Njihovu slavu privela je kraju osvaja\u010dka svita \u0161panjolskog konkvistadora, Hernana Cortesa. Cortes je uspio osvojiti veliki Tenochtitlan i njegovog <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">tlatoanija<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, vladara Montezumu II., 1521. godine. Prema mitovima, \u010dokolada se smatrala hranom bogova. Quetzalcoatl, bog \u0161tovan u aste\u010dkom dru\u0161tvu\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); font-size: 1rem;\">s posebnim \u017earom<\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif;\">, darovao ju je ljudima na kori\u0161tenje i u\u017eivanje.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zauzvrat, arheolo\u0161ki nalazi pokazali su da su ljudi \u010dokoladu naj\u010de\u0161\u0107e koristili prilikom izvo\u0111enja religijskih obreda i odr\u017eavanja vjerskih svetkovina kroz konzumaciju i zavjetne darove, kao i va\u017enih \u017eivotnih situacija poput ro\u0111enja djece, vjen\u010danja i, na koncu, sprovoda. \u010cokolada se smatrala <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">svetom teku\u0107inom,<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> sestrom blizankom najva\u017enije tjelesne teku\u0107ine, krvi.<\/span><\/p><figure id=\"attachment_3394\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3394\" style=\"width: 2000px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cuvaricevremena.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/414479857_731980718641546_3526221747975395471_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1500\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3394\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Grafika koja prikazuje aste\u010dki ritual \u017ertvovanja ljudi. Te \u017ertve (naj\u010de\u0161\u0107e ratni zarobljenici) bi pile teku\u0107u \u010dokoladu (s navodno halucinogenim tvarima) kako bi pri ceremoniji \u017ertvovanja publici ispod hramske piramide izgledale rasplesane i vesele jer su \u201codabrane\u201d za vi\u0161i cilj. Asteci su kakao koristili i kao valutu, pa se za zrna kakaa ka\u017ee da je \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">novac koji raste na drvetu\u201d.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Asteci nisu kultivirali kakaovac, pa su \u010desto ratovali s ostalim drevnim Mezoamerikancima ne bi li svoju dr\u017eavnu blagajnu napunili sa \u0161to vi\u0161e zrna kakaa. Samo je aste\u010dka dru\u0161tvena elita, poput vladara i njihovih obitelji, sve\u0107enika te vojnika, mogla svaki dan ispijati \u010dokoladu. Primjerice, vojnici su mutili \u010dokoladu u vojnim logorima kako bi im dala snagu za ratovanje.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">S druge strane, \u010dokolada je jo\u0161 iz ovih vremena poznata kao afrodizijak. Prema legendi, Montezuma II. dnevno je popio preko 50 zlatnih vr\u010deva (<i>copa<\/i>) teku\u0107e hladne \u010dokolade, napravljene za njega prema posebnoj recepturi. Mislite da je previ\u0161e? Pa na\u0161 dragi \u201cPo\u0161tovani Mla\u0111i\u201d svaki je dan puno vremena provodio u svom haremu od 600 \u017eena. \ud83d\ude09<\/span><\/p><h4><b>A sada: originalni recept za \u201cfinu \u010dokoladu\u201d, <\/b><b><i>tlaquetzalli<\/i><\/b><\/h4><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Asteci su, kopiraju\u0107i svoje prethodnike, imali nekoliko vrsta \u010dokoladnih napitaka. Anonimnom Osvaja\u010du, \u010dasniku u slu\u017ebi konkvistadora Hernana Cortesa \u010dije je ime nepoznato. Ovaj anonimni gospodin zapisao je tu recepturu u svom djelu <i>Opis Tenochtitlana<\/i>, objavljenom u Veneciji 1556. godine.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On u svom opisu ne navodi to\u010dne koli\u010dine zrna kakaa i vode koji su kori\u0161teni za izradu <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">tlaquetzalli<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, kao \u0161to to navode kasniji izvori. Ta smjesa mije\u0161ala bi se \u017elicom da se sve lijepo sjedini. Fotografija: arhiva \u010cuvarica vremena.<\/figcaption><\/figure><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kao za\u010dine koristila sam su\u0161ene \u010dili papri\u010dice i mahunu vanilije, koje sam kupila u obli\u017enjoj trgovini. Po originalnoj recepturi, ti za\u010dini melju se zajedno sa zrnima kakaa na <em>metateu<\/em>, koji se lagano zagrijava od ispod da se sve zajedno lijepi sjedini. Smjesa se zatim stavi u veliku posudu u koju se pomalo izlijeva vru\u0107a voda i lagano mije\u0161a s drvenom (srebrnom ili zlatnom) \u017elicom.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Taj privilegij nisam imala, pa sam mije\u0161anje sastojaka prilagodila. Uzela sam mali lonac iz muzejske kuhinje kojeg sam zajedno s mljevenim zrnima kakaa, sjeckanim \u010dilijem i sa struganom unutra\u0161njosti mahune vanilije, stavila na indukcijsku plo\u010du i zagrijavala uz lagano mije\u0161anje drvenom kuha\u010dom.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><figure id=\"attachment_3417\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3417\" style=\"width: 1581px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cuvaricevremena.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/414171281_407994754918698_7295191533395802275_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1581\" height=\"1080\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3417\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Slika prikazuje mije\u0161anje drvenom kuha\u010dom svih sastojaka za aste\u010dku finu \u010dokoladu u loncu na indukcijskoj plo\u010di. Fotografija: arhiva \u010cuvarica vremena.<\/figcaption><\/figure><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kada je smjesa pustila \u010dokoladni miris, polako sam dodavala vru\u0107u vodu uz neprestano mije\u0161anje. Nakon nekoliko minuta, napitak sam nakratko odlo\u017eila sa strane da se\u00a0 sastojci dodatno pro\u017emu, te sam ga procijedila kroz sitno cjedilo u kerami\u010dku \u0161alicu. U smjesu se mo\u017ee staviti i med kao sladilo, no nisam ga ovaj put koristila.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Poku\u0161avala sam dobiti pjenu na napitku prelijevanjem iz jedne \u0161alice u drugu, no nije mi uspjelo. Pjena se stvarala na svega nekoliko sekundi, pa ju nisam uspjela probati. Preostalo mi je samo da ku\u0161am teku\u0107inu iz kerami\u010dkih \u0161alice, te saznam jesam li uspjela (ne)opravdati o\u010dekivanja koja izaziva priprema i konzumacija aste\u010dke \u201cfine \u010dokolade\u201d.<\/span><\/p><figure id=\"attachment_3414\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3414\" style=\"width: 903px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cuvaricevremena.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/420340214_384147604268364_8738366917943084632_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"903\" height=\"612\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3414\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Slika prikazuje prelijevanje teku\u0107e \u010dokolade iz jedne \u0161alice u drugu s ciljem postizanja pjene. Fotografija: arhiva \u010cuvarica vremena.<\/figcaption><\/figure><h5><b>O\u010dekivanja i reakcija na aste\u010dku <\/b><b><i>tlaquetzalli<\/i><\/b><\/h5><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prvi izazov na koji sam nai\u0161la je samo mljevenje zrna kakaa na <em>metateu<\/em>. Zrna su dosta tvrda, pa treba uprijeti vi\u0161e snage. Osobno nije bio veliki napor jer sam koristila manju koli\u010dinu odjednom. Zasigurno je puno te\u017ee kada je gotovo cijeli mlin prekrivenom tom <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hranom bogova<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Miris koji ispu\u0161ta smjesa pri zagrijavanju je neprocjenjiv. Bila sam kao op\u010dinjena. Opojan miris pro\u017eeo je cijelu muzejsku kuhinju i vratio me stolje\u0107ima unazad. Mogla sam zamisliti kako stari Asteci pripremaju svoj \u010dokoladni napitak.<\/span><\/p><figure id=\"attachment_3422\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3422\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cuvaricevremena.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/416101032_752951703554722_2388019370706760769_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"1600\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3422\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Slika prikazuje gotovu aste\u010dku <em>tlaquetzalli<\/em>. Prvo je ispalo malo neuredno, napitka je bilo izvan \u0161alica. Poku\u0161avala sam zamisliti kako bi to izgledalo da sam primijenila\u00a0originalno prelijevanje teku\u0107ine s visine. Asteci i njihovi prethodnici su ipak bili vje\u0161ti u tome, \u010dokolada se na veliko pripremala, bila je sveta teku\u0107ina i zasigurno si nisu dozvoljavali nered oko posuda da ne bi razljutili bogove.<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Drugo, nikako ju nisam uspjela zadr\u017eati. \u010cak sam poku\u0161avala dobiti pjenu dana\u0161njom, modernom pjenja\u010dom na baterije, no neuspje\u0161no. Mogu\u0107e da je do toga do\u0161lo jer se, ponavljam, nisam dr\u017eala originalnog prelijevanja iz velikih posuda. Drevni domoroci sigurno se sada okre\u0107u u grobovima jer sam, na\u017ealost, ostala zakinuta za produhovljenje bi\u0107a koje izaziva konzumacija \u017eive \u010dokoladne pjene \u017elicu po \u017elicu. A to oplemenjivanje je sama bit \u010dokoladne pjene.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ipak, nije me to previ\u0161e smelo da probam otkriti opravdava li op\u0107eniti stari naziv za \u010doko napitak, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">xocoatl, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">svoje ime. Drugim rije\u010dima, je li aste\u010dka \u010dokolada uistinu gorka voda.<\/span><\/p><h6><b>Odgovor?!<\/b><\/h6><figure id=\"attachment_3416\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3416\" style=\"width: 674px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cuvaricevremena.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/418381066_3177191062575020_9022887427709700988_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"674\" height=\"625\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3416\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Slika prikazuje ku\u0161anje aste\u010dke tlaquetzalli dobivene ovim gastro izazovom. Fotografija: arhiva \u010cuvarica vremena.<\/figcaption><\/figure><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Da, napitak je vrlo teku\u0107i. Ne treba jako gutati, samo pustiti da lagano klizi niz grlo. Zasigurno je u tome poanta ove \u201cfine \u010dokolade\u201d. Naime, u svim ostalim receptima stavlja se npr. palenta da bi teku\u0107ina bila gu\u0161\u0107a. Takvu \u010dokoladu treba progutati, ona ne klizi, ali je i <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ne\u010dista, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">rezervirana za obi\u010dan puk. Visoki slojevi dru\u0161tva to si ipak nisu dozvoljavali.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Svakako me iznenadio okus. Prije same izvedbe sam u jednom trenutku htjela koristiti i med kao sladilo jer su ga i ti narodi koristili, no odustala sam ba\u0161 da vidim ho\u0107e li dobiveni napitak opravdati pojam <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">gorka <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">u starom nazivu. Osobno nisam osjetila neku pretjeranu gor\u010dinu, pogotovo u usporedni s ku\u0161anjem zrna kakaa. Me\u0111utim, to opet ovisi i o okusnim pupoljcima konzumenta.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Napitak je bio dosta ljut, malo sam pretjerala s koli\u010dinom \u010dili papri\u010dice. Ipak, nije mi pretjerano smetala ljutina jer nije preuzela okus ove <i>hrane bogova<\/i>. \u010cokolada i \u010dili dobro se me\u0111usobno upotpunjuju.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Na\u0161i stari Mezoamerikanci nisu slu\u010dajno \u010desto spajali \u010dokoladu i \u010dili. U njihovim vjerovanjima zrna kakaa simbolizirala su \u017eensku, a \u010dili papri\u010dice mu\u0161ku esenciju.
